Introduction
Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented environmental assistant to join the SHE Department. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day environmental monitoring, inspections, sampling, compliance administration, and environmental awareness activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about environmental management and wants to build experience in the mining industry.
Job description
- Conducting routine environmental inspections and reporting findings.
- Assisting with water, dust, waste, biodiversity and rehabilitation monitoring.
- Assisting with environmental sampling and monitoring activities.
- Capturing environmental data and maintaining accurate records, registers and evidence files.
- Supporting compliance with the EMPr, Water Use Licence and waste management requirements.
- Assisting with environmental audits and compliance inspections.
- Supporting environmental awareness campaigns, toolbox talks and housekeeping initiatives.
- Identifying and immediately reporting environmental risks, incidents and non-conformances.
- Promoting good housekeeping, waste segregation, pollution prevention and responsible environmental practices.
- Working in line with mine SHE requirements, legal requirements and company standards.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12/Matric
- National Diploma in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or related field
- Valid South African Driver's License
- Bsc/Advanced Diploma/Btech in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or related field will be advantegeous
- 1–2 years’ exposure to environmental monitoring, compliance, waste management in a mining operation
- Knowledge of NEMA, NEM:WA, NEM:AQA, National Water Act, MPRDA, EMPr, Water Use License requirements, environmental inspections, sampling, reporting and basic incident investigation.
