Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining is seeking a safety-conscious and experienced Shunter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement, positioning, and handling of trains and wagons within the Tshipi siding while ensuring compliance with all railway and mining safety standards. Job description

·        Safely admit and dispatch trains between the TFR rail network and Tshipi siding.

·        Perform all shunting activities within the private siding.

·        Couple and uncouple locomotives and wagons.

·        Conduct brake tests and identify, report, and rectify defects where applicable.

·        Operate and switch OHTE isolating and earth switches.

·        Conduct siding inspections on rail infrastructure and OHTE equipment.

·        Report defects on rolling stock, rail infrastructure, and electrical systems.

·        Assist the Load Out Foreman with operational activities.

·        Complete all required administration and reporting accurately and timeously.

 

Minimum requirements

  •         Grade 12/Matric
  •         Valid South African Driver's Licence
  •         Valid Shunter’s Certificate
  •         Certification to operate Isolating and Earth Switches will be advantageous
  •         Minimum 2 years' shunting experience (Preferably Transnet experience)
  •         Experience working with air brake trains
