Position summary
Introduction
Job description
· Lead and supervise the Engineering Services team and associated business partners.
· Ensure maximum availability and reliability of all Light Duty Vehicles (LDVs), Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMMs), generators, and ancillary equipment.
· Oversee the maintenance and sustainable supply of potable water across the mine.
· Manage sewage reticulation systems, buildings, offices, change houses, laundry facilities, and related infrastructure.
· Develop, implement, and monitor engineering maintenance plans and schedules aligned with operational requirements.
· Manage engineering services budgets, expenditure, and cost-control initiatives.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and maintenance risks.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance practices.
· Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and all relevant statutory requirements.
· Foster a high-performance, safety-focused culture through visible leadership and effective people management.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- N4 Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Diesel Mechanic Trade Test Certificate
- Accredited Supervisory Certificate
- Valid South African Driver’s License
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an Engineering Services Supervisor or Foreman role within the mining industry.
