Introduction
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and preparing samples for analysis in accordance with departmental objectives and operational standards.
Job description
- Collect samples and deliver quality work within the framework of company policies and procedures
- Prepare samples including drying, crushing, wet screening, and pulverising where required
- Perform sample sorting
- Prepare sampling areas and collect soil samples when required
- Assist with quality control and duplicate sampling processes
- Ensure duplicate samples are correctly labelled for laboratory identification
- Transport and deliver samples to the assay laboratory timeously
- Assist with entry-level laboratory and routine chemical analysis tasks
- Provide technical support to ore control and surveying staff when required
- Verify that equipment is functional and operating correctly
- Ensure all sampling equipment is cleaned after use
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (With Mathematics and Science)
- Valid South African driver's license
- A Basic Sampling Certificate and Elementary Sampling Certificate will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mine Sampling
- Knowledge of sampling equipment, processes, methods and techniques
