Introduction
Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining is looking for an experienced and results-driven Mine Planner to join our Mineral Resource Management (MRM) team. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the successful candidate will provide short-term mine planning support, ensuring alignment with medium-term mine plans and business objectives while maintaining compliance with technical, safety, and environmental standards. Job description

Mine Planning & Technical Support

·       Develop and maintain detailed short-term mine plans aligned with medium-term and Life of Mine (LOM) plans.

·        Produce short-term mining layouts, pit designs, drill and blast designs, and load and haul sequences.

·       Analyse production performance against planned schedules and recommend corrective actions.

·        Monitor pit design conformance to ensure safe and efficient mining practices.

·        Conduct scenario planning to support operational and business decision-making.

·       Apply mining engineering principles and best practices to mine design and planning activities.

·       Ensure compliance with mine design criteria and technical planning standards.

·        Conduct technical audits to verify compliance with mine plans, designs, and governance requirements.

·        Provide technical planning advice and support to operational teams.

Financial & Business Support

·        Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting within the planning function.

·        Provide production volume and grade inputs for costing purposes.

·        Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs.

·        Escalate planning risks and opportunities that may impact production or costs.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

·       Build and maintain effective working relationships with operational departments, management, and technical teams.

·        Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure mine plans support operational requirements.

·        Liaise with consultants, business partners, and regulatory authorities where required.

Safety, Health, Environment & Compliance

·        Always promote and uphold safe mining practices.

·       Ensure compliance with legislative, environmental, and company requirements.

·        Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses where required.

·        Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Planning and MRM functions.

Minimum requirements

  •     Grade 12 (Matric)
  •     Valid South African Driver's License
  •     BSc or BTech Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent 
  •     Open Pit Blasting Certificate (Preferable)
  •     ECSA Candidate Engineer (Preferable)
  •     6 years' experience in a relevant mining discipline
  •     At least 2 years' experience and skilled use of relevant mine planning software packages and blast design softwarepackages. Deswik package will be advantageous.
