Job description

About the Role

As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving stores and stock (including diesel) from suppliers. You will ensure that all documentation is captured and reconciled while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Stock and Diesel Receiving & Management

  • Receive and inspect all incoming stock and diesel according to company procedures.
  • Ensure all financial and delivery documentation is complete and accurate, including:
    • Goods received register
    • Delivery and order details
  • Conduct quality checks to identify defects or damages.
  • Accurately report and resolve stock variances.
  • Ensure stock is stored safely and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Financial & Process Efficiency

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the receiving function.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to reduce financial risk and stock discrepancies.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

IT & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent use of IT systems for inventory tracking and management.
  • Maintain high standards of document management and compliance with company policies.
  • Minimise risks by adhering to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

Teamwork & Development

  • Take ownership of personal development by continuously improving skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Share best practices and industry knowledge to support team success.

Customer & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, working closely with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ensure that warehouse services meet customer expectations and performance standards.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve challenges and improve processes.

Minimum requirements

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Receiving Clerk in a mining environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Purchasing Management (NQF Level 4)
